Tomorrows Tec and Dress Day
Good Afternoon,
It is finally our tec and dress run tomorrow!
Please note due to our photographer being there tomorrow all students will need to have all their costumes, hair and make up in place.
To ensure there is no rush please ensure bags are all packed tonight. Students will need to arrive with their hair and make up already done.
Make up for all girls from Mini Movers to Seniors
Foundation
Bronzer
Cheek Blusher
Brown Eyeshadow
Wing Eyeliner
Mascara (older children can wear fake eye lashes so long as they are not too thick.)
Red Lipstick
Hair for all girls from Mini Movers to Seniors
In a low neat bun with middle parting (plenty of gel and hairspray to keep in place.)
Boys
Hair neatly groomed and kept off of face. Boys are welcome to wear some bronzer if they wish but this is not obligated.
A gentle reminder all students under the age of 8 will need a parent/guardian present with them. They will need to be able to go into the female changing room to get their child ready. If the child under 8 has a sibling, the sibling will also be placed with the mother. Our teachers and admin staff will also be present on the day.
Ballet Shoes
All ballet shoes if not pointe need to be satin and have no ribbons on them.
Dance Shoes
Please ensure all shoes are clean, tap shoes or jazz shoes please polish if they are badly scuffed up.
Dance Wear
Please ensure students attend tomorrow in their Donovan’s uniform. This is a safeguarding requirement as this is a working theatre and although students will be with someone at all times, the reception area will still be open to the public.
Pack lunch
Please ensure the students bring plenty of food and drink, with heaps of water. It is going to be a very hot day tomorrow and with us being in the theatre with lighting as well means it’s going to be extra hot. Students are welcome to bring hand held fans if they wish.
Birthday Girl
It’s our Bells birthday tomorrow and what a trooper she’s got a tec and dress day on her birthday. Her mum is planning on bringing a birthday cake and I thought it could be nice for everyone to bring a party snack so during lunch time we could have a little birthday party celebration for her.
Photographer
Emma Stow is a professional photographer, she has all her license in place and will be taking photos throughout the whole day which will then be uploaded on to her website. I will send this website out with the login to parents. May I please ask parents if they haven’t already to ensure they have paid their £25.00 fee this goes towards the photos and recording of the show. This is only made possible with everyone participation.
Road Closures
Tomorrow is the Witham Festival where there are road closures. Please plan a head, we are on a tight schedule and will need everyone to arrive on time so we can begin. It’s important we have all students attending the TEC and DRESS run this is a H&S requirement to ensure all students know where they are going during the show, that pathways for routines can be clearly shown.
Finale
All students are in the finale so to keep expense down we have asked all students to be in their black leggings with Donovan’s black t-shirt. Jazz shoes to be worn.
Costumes
Please ensure you have all costumes with you as these will be needed for the tec and dress run. Please note, to make things easier, if you put any accessories they have in a clear sandwich bag and place this over the hanger, place all costumes in order of which they are performed.
