End of first Part of Term 1 Round up
Good Morning Parents,
We are nearly approaching our end of the first part of term 1. It’s been a wonderful 7 weeks of classes with lots of things happening already. So, before we get into information for the second half of term 1. Let’s just take a quick moment to share our celebrations.
We received over the summer holidays some amazing results for our summer exams which held some of our best results yet with students gaining 100/100 for exams! With a record number of Scholarship nominations to commit and be in for the chance to represent Associate Board of Dance Examining Board.
We said goodbye to three of our seniors as they set off for university, these moments are always bitter sweet as we miss them dearly but equally so proud of their achievements, although one of those seniors we haven’t said fully goodbye too because now Darcy has come back to the Dagenham branch on Saturdays to work as an assistant dance teacher.
We launched a new way of communicating and talking to parents via the app BAND, so if you still haven’t download it. Hoping it will make things a lot easier for everyone to communicate and see events.
Our principal attended the UK Dance Awards as a finalist for Teacher of the Year and although she never won had a wonderful time at the event with vice principal Rhianna.
Our Junior and Inter Competition team attended the prestigious CYD? Super Convention in Liverpool at the weekend where they manage to get to the finals. Dancing against some of the best dance schools I have seen. Our students although did not get place looked incredibly on stage, performing with so much passion, smashing choreography and doing themselves and us proud!
This week our students did their auditions for their musical showcases, we were blown away by everyone’s talent and auditions and so proud of each and everyone who auditioned.
October Half term is next week so there will be no normal classes from Monday 26th October to Sunday 1st of November.
However we do have workshops on and 1:1s in Dagenham. Sadly due to Colchesters Fringe we do not have any 1:1s this term in Colchester.
For those doing 1:1s please contact Sel to find out what you will be doing and what you need to prepare for your session.
For those part of the Advance Training Programme you have a compulsory training day on Wednesday 28th October 2026 you will need to attend.
We are also hosting our first of many this academic year Triple Threat Training days where we have invited guest teachers to attend to teach students, each teacher has professionally trained at dance or drama college and have West End credits and beyond. There is very limited spaces left but if you are untested in booking please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
November
November is a busy month for us with a lot going on. We have our first dance competition of the academic year, please be clear on what routines you are doing and contact the teacher/choreographer of your piece if there is anything you need to double check with routines.
Christmas Light switch on, we have been asked personally to join the Christmas light switch on this year which is an incredible honour. Although I am sad to see not many of our students are attending, this is such a wonderful opportunity and we do ask students to take part, it costs nothing and will be a wonderful memory to cherish!
December
December is also a busy month for us with our Christmas showcase and Presentation. Tickets for this event go on sale on the 1st of November. With our dance exams at the end of the month. Invoices for these will be going out at the end of October for those who are ready to take an exam this term.
There will be no 1:1s or workshops over the Christmas break as I am going to spend some quality time with Primrose and Family.
