Colchester Senior MT Troupe: Tragedy from Steps Musical Here and Now

Good Afternoon

Our Colchester senior class will be doing Tragedy. The piece is set in a ‘B&M’ kind of store. Costumes are self-sourced. I will be getting the uniform pinafore they wear over there clothes

Bessie plays our shop manager - She works hard and expects her employees to have the same work ethic. Her job is her life and we learn over the song how more about her. Prop - will need clip board.

Lucy plays a new employee - it’s her first day and she’s not impressed the shop manager. She’s keen to work but being this is her first job EVER due to being a stay at home mum for 16 years. She is very nervous. She lacks confidence and is on a journey of self discovery. Prop - CV and over the shoulder handbag.

Isla play an over keen wanting to please the boss employee. She works full time and always putting her hand to get a job done. She isn’t popular with the rest of her team but she isn’t too fuss.

Ellen plays a part time employee, sitting her a levels. She’s rather embarrassed to work here but needs the money so she can make sure her hair and nails are done. She’s has the attitude of “Kevin and perry” always rolling her eyes and always on her phone. Prop - a mobile phone.

Jasmyn plays a full time employee, she means well and tends to look after everyone but can be a little forgetful and clumsy. She works long hours and is a first time mum so when she isn’t working 40plus hours, she’s up all night with the baby. Always tired and always looking for caffeine.

Liam plays a full time employee, he mainly works in the stockroom and likes to think of himself as a ladies man but being the only guy in a woman’s world, most of the time he is having to listen to the women complain about why men are so horrible! He gets by knowing each day working there brings him closer to his lads holiday.

All students will be wearing trainers and need outfit to reflect their characters as well as the shop they are working in.
