Established in 1996, Donovan's Academy of Dance and Theatre Arts is a family-run school. We’re built on the belief that every child deserves the chance to be a performer.
We teach dance and performance classes in Colchester and Dagenham; offering an incredible variety of different dance classes, theatre classes, events and exams classes through our partnership with the Associated Board of Dance (ABD), we're proud to continue to welcome our student and parent family into our performing arts academy.
For us, it’s about family
Donovan’s has been passed down through two generations of family to ensure the same values run through our staff, teaching and classes. We like to be current and competitive in every discipline we offer, giving our students the chance to dance at competitions and other big dance events around the UK and internationally.
We offer classes to a variety of age groups - starting from Mini Movers (from the age of two) - to our Seniors and Student teachers (18 Years +). We want our students to adopt performance as a way of life - including the etiquette and confidence that comes along with it.
